Following high school, Glenda joined her sister in Las Vegas and later met Gary in San Diego, where he was stationed. They married while Gary was serving in the Navy and, following discharge, moved to Minneapolis. Despite her many years in Minnesota, Glenda retained her southern accent and charm. She worked many years in housekeeping positions, last retiring from Augsburg College.
