Gary Bruce Horning

Gary Bruce Horning Age 81 of Stillwater beloved husband, father, grandfather passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 22, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilford “Hiff” and Helen. He will be deeply missed by those who survive him: his wife of 57 years, Margaret “Margie” (nee Tschida); children, Michael (Bonnie), Scott, Erick (Briana); grandchildren, Samuel, Jack; bonus grandchildren, Raissa, Dessirae, Reece; bonus great grandchild Thaddeus; sister, Karen Wise; Sisters brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews and rescue dog Rosco.

Gary spent his career working in the defense industry, but early retirement gave him time to invest in the things he really loved: spending time with his kids and grandkids, fishing in Canada, duck hunting in North Dakota, working in his pole barn, tending to his Christmas trees – which we all cut annually, and authoring opinion pieces to whoever would listen. He was involved with many things and was instrumental in the development of the Lake Elmo Park Reserve.

The memorial service will be 7:00pm Thursday, November 2 at BRADSHAW, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, with visitation beginning at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Rotary Foundation or donor’s choice.
