Gary Richard Hudson

Gary Richard Hudson passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2026, in Stillwater, Minnesota. He was born on July 26, 1946, in Stayton, Minnesota to Richard and Lois (Pommier) Hudson.

Growing up in Currie, MN, Gary enjoyed playing sports, boating, waterskiing and most of all picking on his three younger siblings.

Gary was a proud Army Veteran who served his country with honor in the Vietnam War from June 21, 1968 to June 20, 1969. Upon returning from Vietnam Gary began a career as an accountant, eventually ending up with his own business in Stillwater, MN where he remained until retirement.

On May 24, 2000 Gary married Wendy Register and together they shared almost 26 years of marriage.

Known for his sense of humor, hard work and stellar golf game, Gary approached life with practicality and generosity. He enjoyed golfing, boating and spending time with friends. Gary took a great deal of pride in caring for his home, boat, motorcycle, yard and most importantly his garage!

While Gary was a man of few words, he was extremely proud of his two children and 5 grandchildren.

Gary is survived by wife Wendy Hudson, son Eric (Michelle) Hudson, daughter Kelley Linquist, grandchildren Samantha, Hunter, Emerson, Austen, Joseph; step children Chrissy (Jeff Lardy) Dwyer and Nate (Martha) Dwyer; step grandchildren Ashley, Bella, Jack, Daisy and Axel; step great grandchildren Lola and Dixie; siblings Gloria (Clancy Wroolie) Bruns, Randy (Robin) Hudson as well as many nieces and nephews he cared greatly for. Gary is preceded in death by his loving parents, Richard and Lois Hudson and his sister Cindy Connolly.

Gary was an incredibly strong and stubborn man who outlived all the doctor's prognoses, giving him more time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 28th from 1:00-4:00pm at the American Legion in Bayport, MN located at 263 3rd St N, Bayport, MN 55003.
