Captain of the vessel Happenstance
Born on August 11, 1943 in Wenatchee, Washington and died peacefully on December 25, 2010. Gary was a Vietnam War Veteran and served on the USS Kitty Hawk. His successful career in Commercial Real Estate spanned over 40 years. He taught us that hard work, perseverance and following a dream is what life is all about. We will miss his fun loving and generous spirit. Preceded in death by mother, Mary Ellen Thul; father & mother-in-law, Clarence & Evie Grose; grandparents Erling and Ina Nordness, Charles Earl and Orpha Rintoul; nephews Brian and Derek and granddaughter Rachel. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Elaine; children, Renee (Paul) Petrek, Don (Melissa), Darren (Michelle) Sylvander, Jeffrey (Renee), Denny (Lori) Breen and Denise Arneson; grandchildren, Adam, Emma, Max, Oliver, Riley, Dillon, Noah, Madeleine, Colin and many special, nieces, nephews and cousins; father, Don (Mary) Nordness; sisters, Nancy Lee Murray, Janice (Tim) Brakefield, Debbie (John) Hofmann, Dean (Joelle), Billy (Kassy); many close relatives and friends.
