Gene Adams

Gene Raymond Adams, 77, of Stillwater, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Regions Hospital. He leaves his wife of 24 years, Karen Adams, daughter Michele Farah, grandchildren Jake and Janelle, great grandchildren Madisyn and Kyla, sisters Darlene Rabens (Neil), Valda Van Alstine (Oliver), Karen Freier (Dale) and Terri Swan (John), brothers Dale Adams (Edna) and Ron Adams (Charlotte) and his dog Charlie. Gene was preceded in death by his first wife of 28 years Lois (Diercks) Adams.

Gene was born on February 1, 1938 in Canova, South Dakota, the third of seven siblings born to Fred and Theresa Adams. He grew up in Ellsworth, WI on a dairy and turkey farm on Rush River and attended a one-room country school. In 1957, Gene graduated from Maplewood Academy, Hutchinson, Minnesota.

Gene served 2 years in the United States Army and attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis for heating and air conditioning, specializing in ammonia refrigeration. Gene worked for Cool Air Mechanical for over 30 years until his retirement in 1996. Gene had a passion for tinkering in his shop, restoring lawn tractors, fishing, car races, riding motorcycles and helping others.

A celebration of Gene's life will be Friday, October 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 and Co Rd 5), Stillwater, MN. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Mahtomedi, MN.
