Gladys Swengel

Gladys M. Swengel (Lee), age 94, died October 20, 2023, in Shoreview, MN.  Gladys was born October 28, 1928 to parents Gilbert and Tamina (Minnie) Lee in Crookston, MN.  In 1951 she married Vernon G. Swengel in Mentor, MN.  They honeymooned to FL and raised 4 children in Pembroke Pines, FL. 

Gladys is survived by her children: Melody Benson, Maplewood, MN; Lee (Pam) Swengel, Tucson, AZ and their children Kirsten and Kyle; Sharon (Todd) Olson, Vadnais Heights, MN and their children Luke (Macai), Ben (Anna), Gabriel (Ellie), Caleb (Julia), Miriam; Dan (Terri), Richfield, MN and their children Aaron and Brandon; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Orville (Ede) Lee. 

Gladys loved attending church, she loved worshipping her LORD.  She loved her family and cooking for them.  She was known for her beautiful smile and beautiful white hair.  She was always grateful even to the end of her life which is why she had a beautiful smile. A celebration of her life will be at her daughter’s home on her birthday, which she would have turned 95.
