Glenda Anderson

Glenda Jane Anderson, a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024, in Stillwater, Minnesota.

Glenda Jane Gilbert was born December 2, 1944, in Jonesville, Virginia to her wonderful parents, Glen and Zelda. After high school, she moved to Chicago and met the love of her life, Bob, at Covenant Press where they both worked. After they married, Bob started at 3M; this led them to Florida, Georgia, and then Oakdale, Minnesota. Glenda loved being a stay-at-home mom and raised their three children with unwavering love and care. She opened a daycare in her home and found immense happiness in caring for her daycare kids. Later, she worked at Kohls as store secretary. She loved her job and the people she worked with, and was there for 20 years.

Described as sweet, funny, generous, and unfailingly kind with a warmth that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her, Glenda's presence brought light and joy to those around her. Her gentle spirit and caring nature left a lasting impact on everyone she met, including friends of her children and grandchildren, who also called her Gigi (Grandma Glenda).

Glenda is survived by Bob, her beloved husband of 60 years; children Rick (Lori) Anderson, Kurt (Barb) Anderson and Julie Riley; grandchildren Jayna (Scott) Young, Nicholas (Ashley) Anderson, Karli (Tyler) Savaloja, Zeldie Anderson, Hunter Riley, Braeden Riley and Sidney Riley; great-grandchildren Carson, Allison, Lillian, Louise, Casey and Everett; brother Kenny (Peggy) Gilbert; sister Ruth Ann (Danny) McElroy; as well as many nieces, nephews and family members who she adored.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Zelda, sweet grandson, Jake, and her baby brother, Dennis.

A visitation will be held at 2:00 PM at the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center in Stillwater on May 25, 2024, with a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM, followed by a meal. (2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, MN 55082) Another service will be held in Virginia this summer. Details will be shared at a later date.

Glenda's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She rests peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior, and her legacy of kindness and love lives on through all those whose lives she touched.
