Gloria Gertrude Morin (née Plaster)
Gloria Gertrude Morin, age 93, of Bayport, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026.
Born on March 13, 1933, in Stillwater, Minnesota, to Norman and Gertrude Plaster, Gloria spent her childhood in the St. Croix Valley. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1951 and built a life centered on family and faith.
In 1953, she married Eugene Morin. Together they made their home in St. Paul before moving to Brainerd in 1973. In 1984, they relocated to the Duluth area and later to Moose Lake. In 2016, Gloria moved to Bayport, where she spent her final years.
Throughout her life, Gloria worked in a variety of roles, including as a telephone operator, an employee of Whirlpool Corporation, and later as a retail clerk. She especially enjoyed helping others and took pride in her work.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Gloria found her greatest joy in family and home. She loved sewing clothing for her children when they were young and later developed a passion for quilting. An avid reader, she enjoyed social gatherings and treasured time spent with family and friends. Gloria also loved music and singing and was an active member of her church choir for many years.
Her Lutheran faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Gloria was deeply involved in her church community, serving on the funeral committee, singing in the choir, and helping organize annual holiday craft sales that raised funds for the congregation.
Those who knew Gloria will remember her infectious laughter, outgoing personality, and genuine love of people. She lived her life with honesty, integrity, hard work, and steadfast faith. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued, and her warmth touched all who knew her.
Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Morin.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Sue) Morin, Sandy (Dave) Swanson, and Nancy Emerson (Curt Lundgren); her grandchildren, Justin (Tara) Morin, Jason (Jamie) Morin, Brandon (Holly) Swanson, Matt (Kaylah) Emerson, and Randy Emerson; her cherished great-grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Lillian Morin; Isla and Cecilia Swanson; and Brayden, Isabelle, and Lucas Emerson; as well as her sister, Pat Manke, and brother, Mike Plaster, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Bradshaw Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
If desired, memorials may be directed to Lutheran World Relief, a charity that was especially meaningful to Gloria.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Croixdale in Bayport and Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater for the care, kindness, and support they provided to Gloria during her final years.
