Gwendolyn Holst

In Memory of a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great grandmother, and Great Great grandmother.

Gwendolyn A. L. Holst, affectionately known as "Miss Annie" or "Gwen" was born on September 5, 1916 on the Island of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands during the Danish rule of the Island and transferred from Danish rule to the United States of America. The daughter of Charles W. Lewis and Alma Richards. She was an only child. She worked as a Pediatrician Nurse Assistant with the Virgin Islands Department of Health for many years. Mommy spent most of her life on St. Croix and in 1990 she moved to the United States to be close to her children. She spent the last twenty-six (26) years of her life in St. Paul, Minnesota, and on April 17, 2016 she passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 99.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ohenio; son, Larry; grandson, Delroy and great-granddaughter, Jah'Niyah.

Children: Sandra Idona (Martin) Forrester, Imogene Lewis, Elton (Janice) Lewis, Wayne Holst, Harriet (Jessie) Thomas, Carol (Melvin) Holst-Collins, Linda (aka, Tasha) Holst, and Shermaine Holst.

Grandchildren: Genevieve, Shawna, Christine, Erron, Corissa (John), Keenya, Kareem, Eboni, Melanie, Yakima (aka, Kiesha), Keith, La-Tasha, Jessie, and Jessika.

Great-grandchildren: Allen, Brittany, Latwyan, Jah'Nessa, Joh'Rissa, Jeh'Neyja, Sheyenne, Curron, Ashli, Kiana (Moses), Raheem, Akeem, Ariyah, and Aviah.

Great-great-grandchildren: Amaya and Keon.

Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 with viewing from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by the service at Bradshaw Funeral Chapel at 1078 Rice Street, St. Paul, MN.

Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 2105 Lexington Avenue S., Mendota Heights, MN 55120.
