Hao Nguyen

Hao Thi Nguyen was born on August 20th, 1942. She passed away on April 12, 2024 after a 2 weeks battle where her body could not handle anymore and her heart eventually failed. She was 81 years old.  

Survived by her loving husband of 57 years Hiếu Tăng, six children, Tú-Hạnh Tăng, Thống Nhất Tăng (ThuHa Tang), Mẫu- Nghi Tang Pearson (John Pearson), Thiên-Thanh Tăng Johnson (Greg Johnson), Trí Thượng Tăng (Cindy Nguyen), Sĩ Thiện Tăng (Linh Phan), fourteen grandkids and many great extended families and friends

Hao was the niece of a Pharmacist. Hieu’s older sister worked as a cashier for her uncle. Hao often visited Hieu’s sister’s house where she met Hieu. They fell in love and got married in July 1967. Together they had 3 sons and 3 daughters. 

Hao was a very good wife. She knew how to sacrifice for her husband. She was a dutiful daughter-in-law. She was generous to everyone. For 10 years while her husband was in a re-education camp due to the Vietnam war, she raised their children on her own.

She wasn’t just our mother but our hero, our rock and our guiding light through life’s ups and downs. She was a tough woman and found joy in living even with many health concerns during the past 17 years. Her love is the purest form of love. It cannot be compared with anything in this universe. Her love is inexpressible. She was an extraordinary mother. We are thankful for all she has done.

She was also a wonderful grandma. She not only looks like an angel but has now become one. “ Đẹp quá “(beautiful) is something the grandkids hear constantly. She was always appreciating the beauty of others. She was kind, beautiful and always happy around grandkids. The simplest thing such as making a funny face would bring her to laughter. She was always trying to capture the moment. She may not be with us anymore physically, but she lives on spiritually through her loved one. 

We miss you sorely, wife/mother/grandmother!
