a��Remembering Harold Merthine Hughes III. also known as "Humpty", was born November 12th, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska to Esterline and Harold M. Hughes Sr. The family moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where Humpty attended Marshall Junior High and graduated from Central High School in 1975. Humpty was the first person in the family to attend college and graduate. They were all so proud of him. He enrolled at St. Paul Technical Vocational Institute (now called Saint Paul College ) from 1977 - 1978, studying the Welding Trade, he received his Diploma as a Welder, and started working for American Hoist and Derrick Company. In 1979, he enlisted in the United State's Army. Upon his release from the Army, Humpty returned to St. Paul and went back to work for American Hoist and Derrick Company. From 1980 - 1986 Harold worked as a Sheet Metal apprentice, joined the Sheet Metal Workers Union 10 and started taking night classes at St. Paul Technical Vocational Institute. He enrolled in the Sheet Metal Apprenticeships Program for the next five years, after completing the Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Program, Harold became a Sheet Metal Journey Man, and continued working for many years. Harold was a jack of all trades, he could fix, paint or wax just about anything. He was always willing to help his family and friends. To know Humpty was to love him.
a��Harold is preceded in death by his mother Esterline D. Hughes, Sister- Adreann L. Hughes and Brother- Craig L. Hughes. Harold leaves to mourn father Harold Hughes Sr (Gloria), Aunt-Vera Hamilton, 3 daughters, Vallarina (Rahjeme) Bridgeford, Sarina Hughes and Celine Cotton, 1 son Valdeze Hughes and 10 grand children- whom he was very proud of and always bragged about; Sisters- Karen Bailey, Ruth Johnson, Dianna Abrams, Deborha Hughes, Corrine (Mark) Cochrane, Melody Hughes, Gina Hughes; Brothers- Harold (Lavern) Hughes Jr, Brent (Berlyn) Hughes, Woody (Denise) Hughes, Vincent Hughes, Curtis Hughes, Special friend Cheryl Cotton and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins that will remember all his funny stories and the time we spent together.
