Age 97, died quietly and peacefully in her sleep on October 8, 2015. She was born on February 27, 1918, the older of two daughters in two years to Hjalmar Fredolf and Martha Emmaline Donaldson. (Her sister, Bette, died at age four to smallpox.) Harriet was widowed twice. The two marriages collectively totaled over fifty years. In her first marriage she became a mother to a daughter, Sandy, and a son, Rick. Rick died on February 25, 2015.
After high school graduation Harriet worked in the jewelry business, retiring in her late 60's from Bockstruck's Jewelry in St. Paul, MN. Harriet is a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.
Her full life has been an unwavering testimony for unconditional giving and love to everyone, and a role model for facing life's losses, down-sizing three times, etc, with her lifelong beauty, grace, courage and strength by never complaining or being depressed.
Harriet is survived by her daughter, Sandy Brandt; son-in-law Dave Brandt; granddaughter Randa Brandt and her husband Savvas Papaiacovou; grandson Todd Brandt; granddaughter Jody Radtke and her husband Keith Radtke; and great-grandsons Tyler Radtke, Joshua Radtke, Nathan Radtke, and Jacob Papaiacovou.
To honor Harriet, the family invites you to meet with them for dinner catered by Lake Elmo Inn on Wednesday, October 14, 5:30 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Cty Rd 5), Stillwater. There will be no visitation, open casket or formal memorial service. The cemetery burial will be private.
The family requests no flowers, and asks any desired giving benefit the blessing of care and support provided by the dedicated staffs at the Good Samaritan Society in Stillwater, Lakeview Hospice Program, or any other hospice program.
