Helen H. Kosin (1929-2024)
Helen Helga Kosin, age 95, of Maplewood, MN, died peacefully on September 20, 2024 (Formerly resided in Maple Grove, MN and Alexandria, MN)
She was born in Ellsworth WS, in 1929 to father Hans Larson and mother Josephine Maria Miske Larson and spent her childhood on the family farm. Helen attended school in a one room school house and upon graduating from high school at the age of 16, moved to Minneapolis to attend business college. Upon graduating, she went on to work at Kraus Anderson Construction as a bookkeeper. During the time she was home raising her children, she worked on quilting projects for the neighbors furniture business. When her two children started school, Helen went back into the work force, working as a bookkeeper at multiple businesses over the next 20 years. Including Advent Lutheran Church, located in Osseo where she was a founding member, a bookkeeper and occasional Sunday school teacher.
She met her lifelong partner, George Kosin, after moving to Minneapolis and married on April 27th, 1951 at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, George and her parents and siblings. She is survived by her son, Bruce Kosin; daughter, Lynnea Schwieters (John); 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
There will be a service and visitation starting at 10:30 am on Monday, September 30th at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear, MN
