Howard Rohs

HOWARD BYRON ROHS, age 92, died March 9, 2017 at New Perspective Senior Living in Roseville, MN. Howard was born in New Salem, ND on May 7, 1924 to Jacob F. Rohs and Selma Louise Goughnor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zona Faye in 2001 and brother Robert in 1945. He is survived by his children, Jan (Greg) Fouks, Jon Rohs, Bryan (Lisa) Rohs; grandchildren, Jamison (Britt) Fouks, Marissa (Brett) Purcell, Michelle (Matt) Miller, Brent (Nikki), Logan and Alexandra Rohs; great-grandchildren, Emma, Zona, Payton, Beckett, Bentley, Cardin, Ellis; brother, Lowell (Ruth) Rohs; many relatives and friends. Howard chose to serve his God at age 10. He moved to Fargo in 8th grade and was a graduate of Fargo Central High School. He studied civil engineering and played basketball at North Dakota State University and University of Wisconsin at Madison. While serving in the US Navy, Howard was assigned to the Classified Research Lab in North Beach, Maryland. He married Zona Faye Swanson on May 27, 1948. After working for the Great Northern Railway, Howard farmed in Grafton, ND until 1970. He and Zona moved to Champlin and then Anoka, MN, and retired at their lake home on Leech Lake in 1989. Funeral service will be 11AM Saturday, March 18 at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 4600 Greenhaven Dr, White Bear, with visitation one hour prior, and from 6-8PM Friday
