Janet “Jani” Lammers Johnson

Jani passed away peacefully at home on February 29th , 2024. She was born on September 13th , 1940 and lived her entire life in Stillwater. She was preceded in death by her parents, F.S. (Tom) and Janet Lammers; husband, Jack Johnson; and sister & brother-in-law, Judy & Howard Petersen; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Sally and Paul Lee. Jani is survived by sons, Joseph (Debbi) and Jeffry; grandchildren, Samantha (Kolin) Hunton and Nick; great-grandchildren, Owen Hunton and Holland Hunton; nieces, Martha (Bob) Hurley, Jennifer (Bill) Tepper; daughters, Madeline & Izzy and Lori (Gregg) Gleason; daughter, Ann (Cole) Gilman; sons, Leo & Lincoln and son, Brian Gleason; nephew, Rollyn Lee; sons, Rick (Elly) & Carl.

Jani graduated from Stillwater High School and completed her nursing degree at St. Mary’s. She was a long time surgical nurse at Lakeview Hospital. Jani loved gardening and spent many hours in her garden working and taking classes to become a Master Gardener. She loved her time with friends and family traveling and aboard the Chug-a-Lug on the St. Croix River. She was a wonderful cook and loved collecting new recipes.

Visitation and Funeral Service will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 611 South 3rd Street, Stillwater on March 19th , 2024 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass. Burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Bayport will follow the service. A celebration of Jani’s life will be held at the Lowell Inn from 4:00-7:00 PM. Memorials are preferred to the family or donor’s choice.
