Jay Scott Ledy
Age 92, formerly of St. Paul Minnesota, and Bonita Springs, Florida, a resident of Stillwater, MN. Scott passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Boutwells Landing Senior Living, located in Stillwater, Minnesota.
Scott was born April 6th, 1923, in St. Paul, MN to Jay and Emma (Myhre) Ledy and was raised in St. Paul. Scott attended the University of Minnesota, and was member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, just prior to serving in the military during WWII. His role while serving was to entertain the troops performing magic shows. He began his career as a salesperson for John Robert's printing, and then in 1958 started GML, an innovative plastics fabricating business that has evolved into a medical device contract manufacturer today called Innovize. He retired in 1989. His favorite pastime was boating both in Minnesota and also in Bonita Springs Florida where he enjoyed spending winters during his retirement. His passions were his business where he spent endless hours and also as a member and president of Norske Torske Klubben of St. Paul and Kiwanis Club.
Scott is survived by his wife of 13 years, Helen Baker, his two daughters, Ann Ledy (Afton MN) and Beth Ledy (Stanfordville NY) one son, John Ledy and daughter-in-law Julie Ledy (Roseville MN), four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Emma Ledy, and his first wife Gail (Mordaunt) Ledy in 2002.
The visitation will be Thursday, July 9, 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 and a light lunch afterward at Bradshaw Funeral Home, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd., Stillwater.
Memorials may be made to the University of Minnesota Children's Hospital c/of Innovize. The Children's Hospital is the focus of philanthropy work of Innovize, the business Scott created. Memorials may also be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
