Jean H. Kroska, age 94 of White Bear Lake, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 16, 2026.
Preceded in death by husband, Jacob; granddaughters, Amy Sundgaard and Becky Nash; great-granddaughters, Angel Nash and Jori Jones; brother, Jim Snyder.
Survived by children, Ted (Patty), Linda (Jan) Sundgaard, Diane (Mike) Haglof, Angie (Mark) Bisping, and Mark (Michele); 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Gerry Swanson; and other relatives and friends.
Jean Kroska was born on July 2, 1932, to Harry and Rose Snyder in St. Paul, Minnesota, and passed away on September 16, 2026, surrounded by the loving care of her family. She grew up in the Frogtown neighborhood and graduated from Mechanic Arts High School. Jean later met the love of her life, Jacob Kroska, and the two were married on October 28, 1950. Together, they built a family of five children, which grew over the years to include fifteen grandchildren, thirty‑two great‑grandchildren, and three great‑great‑grandchildren.
Jean dedicated nineteen years of service to Bethesda Hospital as a secretary before retiring in 1985. After retirement, she and Jake moved to Sturgeon Lake, where they built their own home and embraced a quieter pace of life. They eventually began spending winters in Pharr, Texas, enjoying it so much that they made it their permanent home. As Jake’s health declined due to Alzheimer’s, they returned to White Bear in 2004 to be closer to family.
Jean was exceptionally talented and creative. She excelled at knitting, crocheting, quilting, wood carving, and needlepoint—skills she generously shared with those around her. She and Jake also enjoyed square dancing, round dancing, and playing golf. Jean joked that she was the “most skilled” at cards and cribbage, a sentiment fondly remembered by her family.
Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Jean’s deep love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived and cared for others. She participated in Bible study groups and served as a prayer partner to many, offering comfort, encouragement, and unwavering support.
Above all, Jean cherished her family. She found joy in every gathering, every laugh, and every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy is one of love, devotion, creativity, and faith-a legacy that will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
Memorial Service 5pm Friday, September 25th at Bradshaw, 4600 Greenhaven Dr., White Bear, with visitation beginning one hour prior. She will be laid to rest along side her husband at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
