Gullickson, Jo Evelyn
nee; Knickerbocker
Age 65, of Little Canada
Passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on April 14, 2017. Born October 18, 1951, and raised in South Minneapolis, Jo was the youngest of three children. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1969 and attended beauty school. Shortly thereafter, she met the love of her life and married Roger on May 13, 1972. Together, they raised two children and Jo enjoyed being a stay at home Mom. She eventually decided to find work outside the home and chose the retail industry. She found her niche as a customer service representative for various companies, most notably Deluxe Corporation where she spent 15 years and later with Infinite Campus from which she ultimately retired. Jo and Roger both retired on October 31, 2014. Soon after retiring, Jo was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. The diagnosis did not stop Roger and Jo from fulfilling some of their retirement goals, which included regular travel across the country. Some of Jo's favorite things to do were reading and sitting outside in the sun, until she spent most of her time in bed, where she so enjoyed HGTV, in particular Property Brothers (Jonathan and Drew), and Fixer Upper (Chip and Joanna Gains). Jo's health began declining in January of 2017 and even that did not deter her Christian faith and positive outlook on life. She continued to bless us with her witty humor, her unconditional love and most of all, her outrageous laugh and beautiful smile.
Preceded in death by father, Donald; brother, Donald, Jr. 'Bimmie'; granddaughter, Holly. Survived by her husband of 45 years, Roger; children, Jennifer (Pete) Strand, Steven (Lea); Grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Madison, Cameron, Hannah-Jo, Olivia, Grace, and Charlie; great-granddaughters, Audrey and Becca; sister, Kathy (Michael) King. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 21st at 11am at CHRIST THE SERVANT LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3676 Centerville Rd., Vadnais Heights. Visitation Thursday, April 20th from 4-8pm at BRADSHAW, 4600 Greenhaven Drive at Hwy 96 (one mile west of 35E), White Bear and one hour prior to the service at church.
