JOAN DYKES age 80 of Minneapolis passed away on November 23, 2023 with her best friend Ruth Kincaid by her side. Joan was the strongest woman in the smallest package. A no- nonsense "Mom" to a great many of the Southside kids. She loved her neighborhood and resided there for more than 50 years.

Preceded in death by husband Richard; parents, Ross Hall and Flossie Mae Reynolds of Springfield, MO. Survived by son, Daren (Rebecca) Dykes; granddaughter, Brittany, three great-grandchilden Liana, Aislynn & Atreus; and grand-dog Big Al.

Joan was blessed with 7 sisters and countless nieces and nephews spread a great distance across this nation.

Small in stature but huge in heart, she was the sweet, caring one who held the family together through all of life's challenges. Joan ran an in-home day care most of her life and was an adopted Mom to dozens of children over the years. She loved to travel and spent much of her life on the motorcycle with Dad. She loved helping with all of the rescue dogs over the years.

Funeral service will be 11AM Saturday, with visitation 6-8PM Friday and one hour prior to service. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
