Passed away peacefully on 3/25/2024 with her family at her side. She is survived by children, Jennifer (Gary Stewart) Hosek, Delmar (Cheryl) Eder, Janet (Cory) Vadner, Daniel (Marlo) Eder, Jessica (Brian) Schwarting; grandchildren, Hunter Hosek, Brian Eder, Christine Erickson, Curtis Pierce, Corrina Pierce, Austin Eder, Alex Eder, Allison Eder, Abigail Eder, Hannah Schwarting; great-grandchildren, Beatrice, Pearl, Aiden, Caelen, Braelen, Nathan, Dakotah, Roman; siblings, Bob Von De Linde, Rita Proulx, Dorothy (Denny) Kruse; nieces, nephews, friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Anne Von De Linde; husband, Delmar Eder; granddaughters, Brittany and Sara Hosek; siblings, Billy, Mary, Margie, Jim.
Joan was raised in the St. Croix River Valley and lived there her whole life. She operated a day care in her home for over four decades and took care of many generations of children. In retirement, she loved Bingo and volunteering through the Knights of Columbus and other organizations. She hosted an Annual Harvest Mass at her home for many years.
Joan had a welcoming heart and opened her house to many who were in need. All were welcome in her home.
Memorial Mass will be Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Stillwater, with visitation one hour prior. Luncheon will be held at the Stillwater Event Center after mass. 1910 Greeley St S, Stillwater, MN Private interment at a future date.
