Joan Marble Frank

February 3, 1935 — June 21, 2025

Joan Marble Frank was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

For 67 years, Joan and her devoted husband, Bill, shared a loving partnership and built a life filled with adventure, laughter, and purpose. At her side until the end, we will miss her dearly.

She will be loved forever by her children: Bruce (Michelle), Julie Monson, and John (Dawn); grandchildren: Michelle, Samantha (Ani), Kylie (Jacques), Nicole (Ben), Kendall, and Taylor (Jordan); great-granddaughter Eden; brother Ken; and many beloved nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Dr. Raymond Marble, and her baby brother, Raymond Jr.

Joan graduated from St. Paul Central High School and the University of Minnesota. Joan taught 3rd grade, and worked at Johnson Florist and Edina Realty. While she wore different hats, the title she treasured most was simply 'Mom.' Nothing was more important or fulfilling to her as being an exceptional, all-around mother - and she was.

Joan was active at House of Hope Presbyterian as an Officer, Chair of the Arts Committee, and a dedicated member of three church social groups. She also participated in many outside organizations such as P.E.O. (50 years), Junior League, Delta Gamma sorority, the Thursday Club, and the 'For Roseville Parks' Board. She was a Girl Scout leader and a passionate community volunteer.

Recreationally, Joan was a regular 'Heinel Drive walker', strolling the neighborhood, and a cycle path biker and cross country skier into her 80's. She was part of a local tennis team that went to Nationals in 1987. She also was in a golf league and raced sailboats with Bill on Lake Minnetonka.

She served her community as a Mendota Heights Welcome Wagon Agent, an election judge, and was in the PTA. She was a Minnesota Zoo docent, completing months of training and volunteering several thousand hours across 12 years.

In 1996, Joan eagerly participated in the Summer Olympic Torch Relay. She was responsible for preparing and supporting some of the thousands of torch bearers that were running, biking, riding trains or boats to eventually carry the Olympic flame across 15,000 miles and 42 states. Joan proudly carried the flame herself in her hometown of Saint Paul,to the delight of friends and family members.

Joan had many passions, including classical music, anything related to the beauty of nature, and cultivating beautifully vibrant flower gardens. She relished travel where it would excite and enrich her life. She also truly appreciated the shimmering waters and natural beauty of Minnesota's lakes-Crystal, Owasso, Turtle, and Superior.

A deeply social being, Joan enjoyed spending time with others-at gatherings, concerts, or just on a simple walk. She was thoughtful, kind, bright, loving, and an extraordinary mother, wife, and friend.

We already miss Joan very much but look eagerly forward to joining her again.
