JOAN G. MESSICK
age 82 of Minneapolis, died in her sleep on January 21, 2017. She was preceded in death by parents, Ray & Vera Thomas; son, Robert Messick; brothers, Jerry and Michael Thomas. Survived by husband of 63 years, Norman; children, Steven (Linda), Kirt (Marcie), Julie (Ron) Parkos; grandchildren, Jonathan (Linda), Kathryn (Mikel) Lundholm, Emily, Kayla Parkos; great-grandchildren, Colin, Nicholas, Gavin, Arabella; sisters, Patricia (Tom) Munchow, Virginia (Larry) Hvinden; many nieces & nephews. Joan was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. While raising her children, Joan was an active Cub and Girl Scout leader. As they grew older, she enjoyed acting, softball, bowling and most importantly, playing cards with her friends. Funeral service will be 11AM Thursday at BRADSHAW FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 3131 Minnehaha Ave S. with visitation beginning at 9AM. Interment at Fort Snelling. Memorials to the family preferred.
