Died unexpectedly. Preceded in death by husband, Tom; parents, John and Annie Dewall; son, Todd David; sisters, Helen Johnson, Doris Pierson, Peggy Kowitz and Autie Dewall; brothers, Al and Harry Dewall. Survived by son, Thomas Jr. (Michelle); daughters, Cindy (Tom) Etter and Suzanne (Paul) Hornby; granddaughters, Nicole (Jason) Engman, Jessana (Mike) Schlinsky, Karalyn (Gabriel) Tritz and Abigail Schweiss; grandsons, Adam Ray, Christian Ray, Andrew Schweiss and Grant Hornby; 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and special friends. Joan was a woman of strong faith who loved her church, loved traveling with the love of her life and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, sports (especially football), fashion, reading, and talking with her many friends. She was a loving wife and mother who put herself last. She always considered her children and grandchildren as her greatest accomplishment. She will be deeply missed by so many. A private family service will be held. Memorials are preferred to St. Andrews Lutheran Church Resource Center, Mahtomedi, MN.
