John Scott Bloomquist

Age 80, Little Canada, passed away at home. Born in Virginia, MN, John attended Chisholm High School. He went on to Concordia in Moorhead, graduating with honors.

Preceded in death by his parents, H. Robert and Romelle Bloomquist; and his nephew, Scott Opheim. Survived by his sister, Roberta (Gary) Opheim; nephew, Justin (Meagan); and grandnephew, Xander Opheim; his roommate, Chris Fredrickson; numerous relatives, and friends.

John found joy in math and numbers and attained Life Master status playing Bridge. He celebrated over 30 years of sobriety and had been active in AA. He retired from the MN Dept. of Revenue in 2021.

A celebration of life will be held on September 17, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m., with a brief service at 6:30 p.m., at Bradshaw Celebration of Life, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater, MN.
