John (Jack) Martin Tschida, Sergeant USMC (Ret.)
Roseville - John (Jack) Martin Tschida, 93, a proud Marine veteran, devout Catholic, and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on June 19th 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on August 22, 1931 in Saint Paul, Jack enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country with honor and distinction for 4 years retiring as a Sergeant. His unwavering pride as a Marine defined his character and remained a constant source of strength throughout his life. He served his country in the Korean War.
After his service, Jack dedicated himself to his family and his faith. He married the love of his life, Jean, in 1956 and together they raised two children: Lynn and Lori. He was a beloved father and grandfather and will be remembered for his strength of character, sense of humor and unwavering support of his family.
A devout Catholic, Jack was an active member of St. Bernard's church where he was married to Jean and rarely missed a service or opportunity to volunteer to serve. His faith was a guiding light in his life and provided him with comfort and strength.
Jack was always a family man and prioritized his family over all else. Jack found joy in trap shooting, hunting, and he was known for his generosity and kindness.
Jack is survived by children, Lynn (Dan), Lori (Dave); grandchildren, Danielle (Mike), Andrew (Amber), Christopher (Sophie) and Benjamin; great grandchildren Jackie (Jordan), Owen, Maverick, Logan, Wyatt, Otto and Ozzie;
great-great grandchildren Bentley and Declan. He is preceded in death by his wife Jean.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernards Catholic church on Thursday June 26th at 11:00. Visitation immediately preceding mass at St. Bernards beginning at 9:30. Burial with military honors will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
