Jon Thomas Rolf passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on November 6th, 2025. He was the first of three boys born to Gilbert and Evelyn Rolf on April 27th , 1948. Jon contracted polio in the mid 50's and spent several weeks at Sister Kenny Institute in Minneapolis. Jon attended Edina high-school and played defense on the football team. He shattered his ankle which classified him 4F when he enlisted for Vietnam.
Jon was a motorcycle enthusiast, artist, author, humorist, truck driver, husband, father and grandfather. He loved good food, coffee and conversation, football, Nascar, fishing, movies, music and exploring the outdoors. He was an avid reader and enjoyed math. He had a sharp wit and a refreshingly dark sense of humor. He was active on social media keeping in contact with family and friends. He was warm, loving and kind.
Jon is preceded in death by his parents, and 2 dogs: Hazel and Izzy. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Arlene Lovsted; children; Jason (Ilse) Rolf, Ava and Caitlin Rolf; grandchildren Ian, Nissa and Titus; brothers Tim (Tam) and Dan Rolf; extended family and friends.
