Jose Limcaoco Jr.
We are saddened to announce the passing of our father Jose (Joe/Peping) Limcaoco Jr. Jose was 86 and passed away peacefully with his family by his side on the evening of Oct 23rd, 2024. Jose was eternally devoted to his family. He is survived by his daughter Joy (Terry) Ryan, his son Eric (Yoshimi) Limcaoco, and his daughter Joanne (Jim) Heider, his grandchildren Jessica LaMotte, Noah, Kylie and Shealin Heider, his sister Edna Miranda, his nieces Christine Miranda, and Crizel (Manny) DeCastro, and many other nieces and nephews. Jose was preceded in death by his loving wife Erlinda "Linda", and his parents Jose Sr. & Enriquetta "Quetang" Limcaoco.
Jose immigrated from the Philippines in 1959 after joining the US Navy. He proudly served in the US Navy for 20 yrs working his way up from an enlisted midshipman, working in the kitchen to retiring honorably in 1979 as a computer processor with the USS Hector. During this time he was commended several times for his outstanding service. He continued to serve his veteran community well into retirement. He helped create "FUSAFRA" Filipino United States Armed Forces Retirees Association to help serve the community and various charitable causes. He was a very proud veteran.
Jose married his wife Linda in 1963 in Los Angeles, CA. Together, while stationed around the world, Jose and Linda had 3 children, Joy, Eric and Joanne. They settled down in the San Francisco Bay Area and raised their family there. After retiring from the Navy, Jose had a second successful career with United Airlines as a mechanic. After retiring again from United, he and Linda spent many happy years traveling the world and visiting family friends and loved ones.
Above all, Jose was a hard working devoted husband, father and grandfather. His kind and generous heart as well as his dedicated work ethic were attributes he passed down to his children and grandchildren. He was a loving and very proud Lolo (grandfather) to Jessica, Noah, Kylie and Shea. His warmth and love will be profoundly missed by us all.
Jose was not only dedicated to his immediate family but also to his extended family, his surviving sister Edna and nieces Christine and Crizel as well as countless nieces, nephews and friends. His favorite thing to do was to cook and share food with those he loved. His delicious dishes will be missed but most of all we will miss his genuine kind and loving nature, his smile, his laughter, his positive nurturing spirit and his complete devotion to his family.
A military memorial service and interment will be held in Jose's honor on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 2 o'clock pm at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery, 2900 Parker Flats Road, Seaside, CA 93955.
