Judy Marie Hoverstad

Judy Marie Hoverstad, 81, of New Richmond, WI, passed away on May 5, 2026, after a battle with cancer. She was born on May 19, 1944, in Sandstone, Minnesota. She graduated from Sandstone High School in 1962, and attended Brown Institute studying Bookkeeping.

Judy was married to her first husband, Gerald Laun, and was blessed with one child, Tami (Rich). From that marriage Judy was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In October 2000, Judy married Arne Hoverstad, and was blessed with three additional step-children, Tad, Tim, and Tanya (Randy), 4 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Arne; parents, Norbert and Emma Nolan; 3 brothers; and granddaughter and step-grandson.

She is survived by her daughter, Tami (Rich); sister, Carolyn Born (Dan); 6 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren, 3 step-children, Tad, Tim and Tanya (Randy), 4 step-grandchildren, 1 step-great grandchild and former husband, Gerald Laun.

Judy loved nature, flowers, and traveling. She and Arne, along with their adorable dog Brody, traveled for over 10 years in their motorhome, dancing and attending community functions. Judy’s favorite position during her career time was when she worked at Disney World at outdoor concerts.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, 10:30am at Bradshaw, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd., Stillwater, MN, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
