June Lammers

Passed away peacefully on December 18, 2015 at age 96. She was a longtime resident of Stillwater. June was preceded in death by her parents, August and Alma Johnson; husband, Gene; son, James; and grandson, Michael Melander. She is survived by daughters, Jane (Dan) Johns and Julie (Michael) Edwards; son, John; daughter-in-law, Sharon; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Elaine) Johnson; sister, Lucille Paige; and numerous nieces and nephews. June graduated from North Branch High School, attended the University of Minnesota and remained an avid reader until near the end of her life. June enjoyed boating on the St. Croix River, playing golf, gardening, and bridge. She especially enjoyed the twenty plus years she spent as a secretary at Oak Park Elementary School. Special thanks are given to the home care aides who saw to June's needs in the last few years at her home and the staff at the memory care unit at Coventry of Mahtomedi for the special care they gave June in her final year. A celebration of June's life will be held 11:00AM on Saturday, December 26 at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 and Co Rd 5), Stillwater. Gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to Washington County Historical Society.
