Karen Gail Nelson

Age 87, of Lake Elmo, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 15, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gail Bassett; and granddaughter, Anastasia.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 64 years, Richard; children, Todd (Heidi) Nelson and Tracy (Ross) Rud; grandchildren, Christopher and Alex Nelson, Jacob and Ethan Rud; other family and friends.

Karen lived a life full of grace and devotion, marked by her unwavering Christian faith. As a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Maplewood, she shared not only her heartfelt ministry but also her remarkable musical talents, enriching the lives of all who knew her.

As we reflect on Karen's life, we rejoice in the memories made, the love shared, and the legacy of faith she leaves behind-a true testament to a life well-lived. She treasured time with family and friends and she will be missed, but her spirit will forever inspire those who carry her memory.

The family requests that you bring a photo or two to share with Dick.

A celebration of Karen's life will be Sunday, January 25, 2026, 2:00 P.M. at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater with visitation one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
