Karl passed away with his family by his side on September 26, 2015, at the age of 93. Karl was born in Stillwater, MN to Karl G. and Pauline Neumeier. He graduated from Stillwater High School in 1940, the University of Minnesota in 1943 with an Aeronautical Engineering Degree and received his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1951. Karl was an aerodynamicist for Bell Aircraft Corp; an aircraft maintenance officer in the U.S. Navy; an instructor at the University of Minnesota and a project engineer for General Mills in its Aero/Mechanical Division. In 1961 he was one of four engineers who founded Program and Remote Systems (PaR). Karl was chief engineer and eventual CEO and Board Chairman. He received the Ray Goertz National Award for Outstanding Engineering contributions in remote handling technology in the Nuclear industry. Karl was a life long active member and supporter of Ascension Episcopal Church in Stillwater. Following his retirement he became an active member of the Stillwater Lions Club and received the Melvin's Fellows Award. Karl lived his entire life on the St. Croix River. He enjoyed the river, gardening, skiing, hunting, tennis and Big Band music; but mostly he loved Lora, his wife of 72 years, and his children. Karl is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Josephine Langford; nephew, Nathaniel Langford; niece, Roberta Bell Morse, and son-in-law, Robert Gunderson. He is survived by his wife, Lora; sister, Catharine Bell; daughters Elizabeth (Larry) Wolf, Nancy Gunderson, and Mary (Jerry) Steinbrecher. Grandchildren Sara, Lisa, Lori, Keri, Jill, Kristi, and Scott; 13 great grandchildren and 3 nieces. Memorial services will be held at the Ascension Episcopal Church, 214 3rd Street N, Stillwater, MN 55082, on Saturday, October 3, visitation at 10am, service at 11am, reception to follow. Memorials preferred to Lakeview Hospice, 1715 Tower Drive W Suite 330, Stillwater, MN 55082 or the Ascension Episcopal Church.
