Kathryn Elizabeth Wyatt, 44, of St. Paul, lost her battle with cancer on Thursday, Dec. 4th, 2025. She will be missed most dearly by her parents, Paul and Nancy Wyatt, her twin brother, Matthew, and his family.
Kathryn’s short life was filled with love and adventure. Her love of the outdoors began as her family traveled to multiple National and State Parks and continued as she attended Camp Widjiwagen’s canoe program. There she met some of her lifelong friends as they paddled through Northern Canada, including the Arctic Circle.
She turned her love for the outdoors into a career with the Northern Star Council. She began as the Waterfront Director at Tomahawk Scout Camp, worked at multiple other camps in multiple programs, finally becoming the Director of Community and Guest Programming. She passionately worked to bring outdoor adventure and Scouting skills to all kids, especially those who may not have access to outdoor adventure. She never lost her excitement about going to camp, or her love of a good nickname.
She also found a strong community of friends through endurance sports. Kathryn competed on the Central High School Cross-Country running and Nordic skiing teams, and she continued to compete until her treatment no longer allowed it. There are too many races to count, but some of her favorite stories to tell were of completing the Birkebeiner ski race with her Dad; Finishing the TC Loony challenge (a 10k race on Friday, followed by a 5K and 10 mile race on Saturday) with her friends year after year, running half-marathons in Iceland and the Caribbean, and coaching her niece and nephew through family fun-runs and community track.
Her travels took her around the world: multiple mission trips to Guatemala, her international races, a trip to Cuba. But most of all, she loved to travel with her friends and family. She was the best at finding great places, unforgettable experiences, and always sharing them with the people she loved. Even before she was “Aunt Dewey” to her niece and nephew and “Danza” to the Scouts, she was always the boss.
Kathryn loved her people, her community, and the world around her. She was an adventurer, a friend, and the best gift-giver ever. She will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her back.
