Lawrence "Larry" Murphy

Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Murphy
Age 87, died on Christmas Day peacefully at Fairview Lakes Medical Center.

He was the 4th born to Gertrude and Joseph Kaminski. After his mother's early death, he along with his 4 sisters went to St. Josephs Orphanage in Wabasha, MN. He and his younger sister, Evelyn, were later adopted by the Murphy family. Larry enjoyed working on the farm with horses, hunting, fishing, animals and nature.
Larry joined the Air Force, after returning worked on the railroad and type set for a printer. He lived in Colorado for some time, and had two children, Chris and Chery. He then returned to Minnesota in order to continue his education in Horticulture at the University of Minnesota. He started gardening on a large scale and sold his produce and flowers at the St. Paul Farmers Market for many years. He befriended many people and animals, was always willing to lend a hand, and could figure out and fix anything. He was very peaceful, loved the Lord, and the Rosary of the Virgin Mary, and enjoyed giving what he had in abundance to others.

He's survived by his children, Chris and Cheri Kemper; his sisters, Marie Weber and Evelyn (Jim) Wendt, along with many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass for Larry will be at St. Jerome Catholic Church (380 Roselawn Ave. E) on Thursday, January 5th at 11am with visitation an hour prior.

Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
