Lay Vang, 68, of Saint Paul, MN, passed away on February 25, 2023. She was surrounded by her seven, loving children at the time of her passing.
Lay was born on August 5, 1954, in Don Khon, Laos, part of the 4000 Islands on the Mekong River. She immigrated to the United States in 1979, and resettled in Saint Paul, MN, where she built a new life for her family through hard work and diligence. She instilled these principles in her children, along with the importance of family, love, and forgiveness.
Lay was an amazing, kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family and others before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She relished time with her family, traveling, and being on her farm, where she spent many happy days.
Lay was a person of abiding faith and was an inspiration to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Lay is survived by seven children: Kin (Kevin), Be (Peter), Mao, Xai, May (Mario), Malee (Jonah), and Peng (Kia). She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Helena (Hnia), Emme, Hannah, Abigail, Isaac, Zoe, Madeleine, Mackenzie, and Jacob; three great-grandchildren: Olivia, Mila, and Christian; and four fur babies: Cash, Gus, Johnny, and Angel.
Celebration of Lay’s life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 10 AM to 8 PM, at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center in Stillwater, MN. Services will be held at 11 AM and 4 PM. A private interment will take place at Union Cemetery in Maplewood.
