Leo Mark DuRand

Leo Mark DuRand, 74, of Somerset, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025. Raised in Somerset, Leo was one of ten siblings and a graduate of Somerset High School. His adventurous spirit took him to Winter Park, Colorado, where he worked as a project manager for Silverado Development before founding Mountain Wall Concrete. 

A natural entrepreneur, Leo moved back to Wisconsin and became the owner of Interstate Crane and then Express Lube and Rental in New Richmond, WI. He was also a founding member of Leisure Research LLC. His competitive nature also made him a multiple-time champion in the Up North Bass circuit. 

A cowboy at heart, Leo lived life with grit, generosity, and a twinkle in his eye. He was as comfortable in a pair of boots as he was behind the wheel of a truck blazing his own trail. 

Leo had a true love for the outdoors. Whether casting a line, sitting in his deer stand at the Cabin, or hunting in the mountains out West, he was in his element. Come Sundays, he was happiest grilling and cheering on the Green Bay Packers, surrounded by friends and family he loved most. 

Forever chasing the next adventure, Leo made it his mission to explore every bass lake he could find across the country, each one adding another memory and great story to tell. 

Leo is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothy DuRand; brothers, John, Skip, Scott, and Lance; sisters, Barbara and Richelle; nephew, Dan DuRand; and father-in-law, Jerry Anderson. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeri; children, Chase (Danielle) and Anna; sisters, Donna Hickey, Gayle Garrity, and Yvette (Randy) Batterson; mother-in-law, Judy Anderson; brother-in-law, Jeff Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation 4-7pm Wednesday, October 22nd at Bradshaw, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd., Stillwater, with a tribute at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Thursday, October 23 rd at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 141 Church Hill Rd., Somerset, WI, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Celebration of Life Luncheon to follow at General Sam's in Somerset, WI at 710 Spring Street Somerset Wisconsin.
