Age 94 of North Oaks, formerly of White Bear Lake, passed away at home on March 8, 2026.
LeRoy was one of ten children born and raised on a farm in the small town of Turton, South Dakota. He graduated from Turton High School in 1949 and attended two years of college at Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
LeRoy was then on active duty with the U.S. Army from 1952 until 1954, during which time he volunteered to observe nuclear bomb explosions in Desert Rock, Nevada.
After active duty, he returned to Turton, South Dakota, in 1954 and married his elementary school sweetheart, Beverly Jean LaBrie. He attended the University of South Dakota at Vermillion, earning a degree in business administration and marketing.
After graduating college, LeRoy started his 22-year, seven-location career with the General Adjustment Bureau, working his way up from an adjuster in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to a national account executive in New York City. In 1977, he moved back to the Twin Cities and began a 20-year career with The St. Paul Cos., retiring from his duties in 1996 as senior vice president of claims.
LeRoy was a family man, a community man, and a religious man. Throughout his life, he was active in innumerable professional, civic, and religious organizations.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Lucy and Frank Troske, and eight siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Beverly; eight children and their spouses; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Jr; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, May 15, 2026, 11:00 AM at St . Pius X Catholic Church, 3878 Highland Ave, White Bear Lake, MN. A visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. A private interment will be held in Turton, South Dakota, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Como Park and Conservatory, a longtime family favorite.
