Linda Arcand

December 31, 1949 — June 28, 2025

It is with a mixture of emotions, from laughter to a few well-earned tears that we announce the passing of Linda Christine Arcand, who left us just as she lived: with her heart full, her opinions strong, and a great love for her family. Linda was born December 31, 1950, and passed peacefully and unexpectedly in her home on June 28, 2025.

Born in the town of Glen, near Willmar, Linda got her start in a small town. She moved to Willernie in 1953 at the age of 3, then on to Mahtomedi in 1963. She graduated from Mahtomedi High School in 1968.

In her younger years, Linda was the most rebellious of the siblings and had the occasional stubborn streak. She was a fan of fast cars and fearless riders, spending many a weekend at the races or watching bull riding with a gleam in her eye that said, "I could do that-if I wanted to." It was at the races, through a mutual friend, that she met the love of her life, Blake. The two married on September 11, 1976, and shared 23 years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and the occasional debate. Linda enjoyed the cabin in Castle Danger, MN for many years, making precious memories with families and friends.

Linda dedicated 37 years of her life to State Farm Insurance, where she was known for her work ethic, quick wit, steadfast friendships and her contagious laugh. Over the years, when she wasn't working or checking in with her family, Linda could be found with her nose in a good book, out on the golf course, or bowling a strike (or at least claiming she did). She adored her nieces and nephews, and they adored her right back-though they'd be wise to stay on her good side during family gatherings.

Family was always her anchor. She loved her family fiercely, kept her sibling connections tight, and always circled back to her greatest love: the people she called her own. Her laugh was quick, contagious, and sometimes suspiciously timed-especially when you were the punchline.

In her later years, Linda found joy in doting on her beloved dog Mocha, and making sure everyone knew that, for her, family always came first.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband Blake, her parents Duane and Delores (nee Knutson) Williams, and her brother-in-law Gaylen Springborn. She is survived by her sisters Rebecca (David) Metkowski and Wanda Springborn, her brother David (Donna) Williams, step-children Tamara Gustafson, Debra Mullen, Jody Arcand, and Daniel Arcand, as well as three nieces, four nephews, Blake's grandchildren, and a host of friends and extended family who will miss her dearly.

She will be missed, remembered, and-let's be honest-occasionally impersonated at family gatherings for years to come. Rest easy, Linda. The laughter is a little quieter, but our hearts are a lot fuller because of you.
