Linda Mary Schaeffer

Linda Mary Schaeffer, of Stillwater, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026. Linda was born to Mildred Neary Miller and Charles Miller on June 25, 1949 in Wilmington, Delaware. She lived most of her life in Delaware, before moving to Minnesota in 2013 to be closer to family.

Linda graduated from Rhode Island School of Design, where she majored in oil painting. A highlight of her college experience was living a year abroad in Italy, where she traveled and developed her talents as an artist. In her professional life, Linda owned her own business as a freelance graphic designer.

Linda had incredible artistic talent in both visual arts and music. She had an uncanny ability to paint faces to a near perfect likeness. She shared this gift with family and friends by creating beautiful portraits of those she loved. She played guitar and piano throughout the entirety of her life. Linda loved classical and folk music, and could frequently be found at her piano playing and singing. She had a beautiful singing voice, which she shared sitting next to dear friends in choir. Later in life, she was a friend and companion to countless fellow community members at Oak Park Senior Living in Stillwater. She will be remembered as a woman who lived her life spreading loving kindness to all those who knew her.

Linda was a devout Catholic, as a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Wilmington, Delaware; St. Jude of the Lake in Mahtomedi, Minnesota; and then St. Michael's Church in Stillwater, Minnesota. Her devotion inspired many to live their lives in the light of God, and to appreciate the endless beauty of His creation.

The pride and joy of Linda's life was her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin. She raised her daughters, Erin and Kelly, with unwavering love, attention, and devotion. Later in life, Linda cherished her role as Gram to her five beloved grandsons, giving each of them unconditional, wholesome love and celebrating each of their uniquenesses.

Linda is survived by her daughters Erin Stonehouse and husband Matthew Stonehouse, Kelly Schaeffer and husband Patrick Staib; her grandsons William, Samuel, Benjamin, Sebastian, and Diego; her brother John Miller and his wife Bess Miller; her sister Charlene Counts; her nieces Michelle Pullella and Rebecca Hickman; her nephews Michael Miller and David Hickman; and many beloved friends.

A private service will be held at St. Michael's Church.
