Lois Mae Nelson

Age 89 of Stillwater, MN passed away peacefully on Nov. 11th, 2022.

She is preceded in death by her parents Matt and Lempi Nessola, brother Robert, nephew Larry Nessola and infant daughter Victoria.

Survived by her loving husband of 68 years Donald and beloved daughters Valerie (John) Adelsheim, Marilyn (Richard) Nipp and Gwendolyn (Robert) Andersen; six grandchildren: Charles, Michael, Sara, Alex, Erik, Cameron and their significant others; eight great grandchildren: Noah, Haley, Kinsley, Chloe, Miriam, Eleanor, Everett, and Katherine.

Lois was born & raised in Chisholm, MN. In addition to being High School Class Valedictorian, she received her Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. She was an active member in the Finnish American Historical Society of Minnesota. Music was a major part of her life including playing the clarinet in two civic orchestras. Despite contracting polio at age 13, she led a full, active life and developed many creative talents including knitting, sewing, cooking, and planning trips abroad.

Memorial gathering will take place Thursday, November 17th, 3:30-5:30PM at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd in Stillwater, MN.
