LYNETTE GAIL LONNEMAN (FAWCETT), age 75, of Blaine, MN, passed away on January 30, 2026, in Forest Lake, Minnesota, after a challenging fight against cancer. She was born January 23, 1951, in Fargo, ND, to Les and Dorraine (Durling) Fawcett. Lynette was baptized in Moorhead, MN, and celebrated her confirmation in Marshall, MN, at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in 1966. Her family moved many times throughout her childhood. She attended multiple elementary and middle schools located in Moorhead, MN; Hillsboro, ND; Boone, IA; Grand Forks, ND; and finally settled in Marshall, MN, where she graduated high school. During her childhood, she worked in her family's Coast to Coast stores and gained a lot of knowledge about home repairs. She attended Southwest State University in Marshall, MN, and graduated with a degree in French Education and a minor in English Education. She continued at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN, to finish her 4-year degree in English Education. Her first teaching job moved her to Mitchell, SD, where she taught English and French. In 1976, she worked at Rott-Keller, demonstrating to customers how to use microwave ovens. She also attended court reporting school in Minneapolis. She settled in Worthington, MN, to teach English and French at the high school.
She met Gary Lonneman while they were both teaching. They were married on June 28, 1980, in Marshall, MN. A few years after their marriage, the couple moved to live and farm at Gary's home place near Wilmont, where they raised their three children. We could not have asked for a better life on that farm.
Lynette's favorite hobbies included reading, tending to her house plants, sewing all of her children's clothes, patching all the holes in her husband's clothes from farm work, and growing the biggest garden ever. The entire family took such pride in sitting down to eat, knowing everything on their plates was grown by her. She was also a wonderful cook and baker. Her family felt very blessed to have her cook so many delicious homemade meals. She loved her kids and grandkids dearly. She came to visit them often and always brought the most thoughtful presents.
Lynette is survived by her three kids, Katie (Justin) Lupkes, Chisago City, MN; Kim (James) Evans, with grandkids Ellie, Charlotte, and Grace, Kansas City, MO; Rick Lonneman, Minneapolis, MN; two younger brothers, Frank (Cindy) Fawcett, Rochester, MN, and Steve (Deb) Fawcett, Anoka, MN; and one younger sister, Connie (Jeff) Schueller, Stanchfield, MN, as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary; her mother, Dorraine Fawcett; and her father, Les Fawcett.
A celebration of Lynette's life will be held on Saturday, Feburary 7, 2026 at 3PM at Bradshaw, 4600 Greenhaven Dr, White Bear Lake, MN 55127. Visitation will be held an hour prior at 2PM. A private family committal service will be held at a later date, where she and Gary will be at rest together forever.
In lieu of flowers, plants, or gifts, Lynette would be delighted if donations were directed to your local library or school.
