Mac Barlass

Mac was born July 9, 1935 in Janesville, WI to Charlotte and James Stewart Barlass. He died April 9, 2017 in University of Minnesota Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James, and sister Margaret.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, of Stillwater, children Anne (Ted Vezina) of Red Wing, MN, Shelly of Duluth, MN, and Kirk (Kristine Tate) of Mobile, AL. Grandchildren include Jarek and Kastina Morrison; Claire and CaiLan Barlass; Aidan Barlass; Logan, Collen, and Ellen Vezina.
Mac and Donna (Hutchinson) were married May 17, 1958. Mac served as a US army captain until his discharge in 1958. Mac and Donna lived for many years in Franklin Grove, IL where Mac worked for the Extension Service as an Agricultural County Agent. In 1978, he and Donna moved to Stillwater, MN, where he continued his work for the Extension Service.
Mac enjoyed being part of the Stillwater Lions Club, and was passionate about singing with the St. Croix Chordsmen and M&D Harmony Quartet, where quartet members have long enjoyed performing at the Lake Elmo Inn.
A long time member of the First Presbyterian Church, Mac worked with the men's group and took part in mission trips to Appalachia and the Gulf Coast.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 20th at 11am at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 6201 N. Osgood Ave., Stillwater. Visitation Wednesday April 19th from 5-8pm at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd. (NW Corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater and one hour prior to the service at church. A time of sharind will be held at the reception at church. Please bring you're favorite Mac stories. Private Interment Milton Lawn Cemetery, Janesville, WI at a later date.

In between volunteer services he's quick and ready with his own sense of humor, spewing one-liners that lighten whatever crowd he's in... ... ...
