Margaret "Peg" Bear, a loving mom and grandmother, passed away on February 14, 2026, after a short illness. She was 87.
Peg was the heart of our family. She raised two daughters, Elizabeth "Beth" Bear and Heather Bear (Marty) Foote, and she was a proud and devoted grandmother to Charlie, George, and Oliver. She is also survived by her sister, Connie Hastings, as well as Lisa Hastings, Rich Anderson, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Bear.
Peg began her career as a nurse after graduating from the Ancker Nursing Program. She cared for patients for many years at Ancker Hospital and Mercy Hospital. Later, she earned her MBA and helped build the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Mercy. Peg was always someone who gave her time to others, and in recent years she volunteered with the Day Out Group Respite Program.
Those who knew Peg will remember her smile, her kindness, her strength, and her sense of humor. She made life brighter for everyone around her, and she will be deeply missed.
