Margaret "Peggy" DeGeest

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Margaret "Peggy" Anne DeGeest on May 9, 2025 after a long and stoic struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. She was 80 years old.

Peggy was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on December 23, 1944 to the late William and Audrey Johnson. She is also preceded in death by her dearly beloved brother, Clifford Johnson.

Peggy was a life-long crafts enthusiast; she enjoyed taking in and learning new arts and developed into an avid and extremely talented quilter.

She retired from Delta Airlines as an Operations Agent for KLM specializing in weight and balance. She enjoyed the many positions she held in the airline industry, beginning in the 1980's for Republic Airlines. The benefits of her career path fed her inner adventurer and travel was always on her mind. She even ventured through Europe by train - solo! She had a beautiful smile, a sweet little laugh and a great sense of humor, which she preferred served dry!

Her greatest love was certainly for her grandchildren, as her free time was often spent caring for and cheering them on through all their various interests and ambitions. Her heart for them, their lives, and the lives of her adult children was profound. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Tucker, Jill Arnhold, Andrea (Stephen) Rose, and her son, Paul (Megan) DeGeest; as well as her grandchildren, Chad, Sarah, Emily, Josh, Josie, Elias, Madeline, Victoria, Reagan, Joey, Audrey; and great grandchildren, Asa, Delilah, Kyan and Eden. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia 'Ginny' (Bruce) Anderson and her brother, Donald 'Don' (Nancy) Johnson; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A private gathering to celebrate Peggy's life will be held on July 18th, 2025.
