Margaret Raverty

Margaret "Peggy" (Sadowski) Raverty passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2025 in Scandia, MN. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Lambert and Elaine Sadowski. Survived by husband of 46 years, Jim; twin daughters, Megan (Marc) Raverty Scholten and Maureen (Lawrence) Peters; the lights of her life, grandkids Henry, William, Oliver and Hazel; brother Mark (Chris) Sadowski and sister Ann (Peter) Melges and her faithful cat, Nellie.

Peggy was a postpartum nurse for over 35 years, first at Miller hospital, which later became United Hospital in St. Paul. She took great pride in helping new moms care for their babies. Lifelong friends were formed on Station 2400 at United, many of whom she kept in close contact with since her retirement.

Always the creative type, Peggy enjoyed quilting and leaves behind many friends from various quilting clubs throughout the years. She also enjoyed regular "breakfast with the oldies" and monthly coffee dates with the "old neighbors." All dear friends she leaves behind.

Above all, the joy of her life was becoming Gramma in 2012. She even came "out of retirement" to give each of her 4 grandbabies their first baths when they were still in the hospital, born in the very unit she worked for so many years. Though her declining health kept her from participating to the extent she wanted in recent years, she beamed with pride as she listened to stories of Henry's life as a middle schooler, Oliver's recount of his hockey games, Hazel's made up stories of her stuffies, and William's beautiful talents on the piano. All 4 have a deep love of reading and learning, no doubt passed down from their loving Gramma.

A private visitation to be held for immediate family with a celebration of life for all to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakes International Language Academy, her grandkids charter school, so others can experience the bilingual education she was so proud her grandkids were afforded.
