Marie Margaret Nestrud

Marie M. Nestrud (nee Lohmann), 89, of Stillwater, MN passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023 surrounded by family at The Pillars Hospice Home in Oakdale, MN.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Margaret Lohmann, brother David Lohmann and sisters, Helen Lohmann, Joanne Kromrey and Kate Markgraf.

Marie will be deeply missed by those who survive her: Floyd, her husband of 55 years; her children: Steve (Lynn) Thron, Tom (Margaret) Thron, Cindy (Eric) Reberk, Tami (Rick) Larson, Kevin Nestrud, and Barb (Ken) Kramer.

She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Marie grew up in Lake Elmo and graduated from Stillwater High School. She loved fishing, gardening, cooking and baking for her family.

Special thanks to the staff at The Pillars Hospice Home for their care in Marie’s final days and to her husband Floyd for his constant care and attention over the last years.

Service, Wednesday August 9, 2023 at 11:00 at St. Paul Lutheran’s Church, 609 – 5 th St S, Stillwater, MN with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Internment at Willow River Cemetery, Hudson, WI.

Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Foundation and to The Pillars Hospice Home.
