Marilyn June Ash

August 18, 1932 — January 16, 2024

Marilyn Ash, 91, of White Bear Township, Minnesota, passed away on January 16, 2024 from age related causes.

Marilyn was born on August 18, 1932 to Walter and Nellie Anderson in West Seneca, New York. After graduating from Cannon Falls High School, she attended the University of Minnesota and played the saxophone in the University Marching Band.  She worked for several years at KSTP Television in the Twin Cities, as well as H.B. Fuller and Bethel University. 

In 1958 Marilyn married Robert Ash.  The wedding was held in Germany where Robert was stationed in the US Army.  Marilyn and Bob settled in White Bear Lake, Minnesota and had two daughters, Laurie and Kathryn (Kit).


Marilyn was a kind soul with a bright smile.  She valued her relationships with family, church and friends.  She stayed active over the years by volunteering at church, tending to family, and painting beautiful works of art.  Marilyn was a watercolor artist who took classes with the same group over many decades. 

Marilyn was predeceased by parents Walter and Nellie Anderson and her sister Virginia Anderson. She is survived by husband Robert, daughters Laurie(David) Bunnel of Sammamish, Washington, Kathryn(David) Nieters of Blaine, Minnesota and grandchildren Austin Nieters, Joshua Nieters, Britta(Samuel) Black and Annika Bunnel. A Celebration of Life is planned for March 16 at First Covenant Church of St. Paul. Visitation with family at 1pm and service at 2pm. Memorials preferred to First Covenant Church, St. Paul.
