Marilyn Jane Duncan Ludwig

Marilyn Jane Ludwig, age 88, passed away at Boutwells Landing Retirement Community in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota on December 14, 2025. 

Marilyn was born on May 5, 1937, in Grove City, Pennsylvania to Lloyd L. Duncan and Gladys Gregg Duncan. She graduated from Nunda Central School in June,1955, and attended Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia in the fall of 1955. She married Donald Kent Ludwig of Hunt, NY on July 6, 1957, in Nunda, New York.

The couple relocated to Aurora, Illinois in early 1958 when Donald was hired by Dynacolor, followed by 3M Company. Marilyn continued her studies and gained a teaching certificate. In the summer of 1969, the couple was transferred to St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1980, Marilyn founded the A+ Tutoring Service to educate children with learning disabilities. In 1994, Donald and Marilyn retired to Valrico, Florida and enjoyed retired life in the River Hills community. In 2011, the couple returned to Minnesota and took residence in the Boutwells Landing Retirement Community in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota.

Marilyn loved the Lord and was consistently involved with various faith-based bible studies and projects throughout her life. Marilyn will be especially remembered for being a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her passions in life were her family and teaching. Nothing brought her more joy than her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald K. Ludwig, her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Betty Duncan, her daughter-in-law Sondra L. Ludwig, and her granddaughter-in-law Erin L. Ludwig.

She is survived by her three children, Jeffery Kent Ludwig (New Kent, VA), Janet Lynn Roeller (Lakeville, MN), and Joyce Marie LeMay and her husband Jeff (Andover, MN).

Marilyn had 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Jennifer J. Ludwig (Richmond, VA), Jason K. Ludwig (Virginia Beach, VA) and children Savannah and Aubrey; David K. Ludwig and his wife Ashley (Kingsport, TN), and children Barron Kent and Daisy Lee; Thomas K. Roeller and his wife Taylor (Lakeville, MN) and children Landon and Lilly; Robert K. LeMay and his wife Samantha (Maple Grove, MN), and children Justin and Max; and Daniel K. LeMay, (Eden Prairie, MN).

A private family memorial will be held in the Spring.
