Marion Hagen

March 12, 1941 — April 11, 2024

Lindstrom, Minnesota

Marion Jacqueline Kolodziejski Spreigl Hagen passed away on April 11, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones. Born on March 12, 1941, to Clemence Kolodziejski and Irene Davidson Kolodziejski, Marion grew up on the east side of St. Paul with her little sister Deloris. She graduated from Harding Senior High in 1959. After graduation, she married Donald Spreigl and raised 3 children while working full-time at 3M Company as a secretary and other various roles. She enjoyed dancing and playing bridge with her many bridge club friends.

After she and Don divorced, she went on working to provide for her children and improving her skills which led to career advancement at 3M. She enjoyed spending time with friends and taking extension classes with them. We all remember the macramé and belly dancing classes. She tried to pass on her love of dancing by holding impromptu dance lessons in the living room of our little house.

When 3M and Lanier launched a joint venture that included her department, she relocated to Georgia. She started her new adventure by building a house in Stone Mountain with her new husband Richard Hagen. They lived in Stone Mountain for many years and made many friends. Marion loved traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She retired early and spent even more time in Minnesota with them. Eventually, she and Dick moved permanently back to Minnesota to be closer to their families and settled in Lindstrom.

She especially loved getting together with long-time school friends and always looked forward to class reunions. Cousin luncheons were also one of her favorite events. The last few years, Marion struggled with health issues making it harder for her to be as active as she once was, but the growing family enjoyed visiting Grandma's house.

Preceded in death by her parents, Clemence Kolodziejski and Irene Davidson Kolodziejski, Marion is survived by her husband Richard Hagen; children Dawn Kosowski (Jim), Christopher Spreigl, and Leslie McDonald; grandchildren Killian Smith (Katie), Abigail Kosowski-Williams (Perry), Nicholas McDonald, Olivia Reid (Anthony), Jacob McDonald, and Sophia Kosowski; as well as many great-grandchildren, sister Deloris Kolodziejski and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Krystal Farrow and Competent Quality Care for all you were able to do to improve Marion's quality of life.
