Born in 1939, she died peacefully on September 11, 2025, after living with Alzheimer's disease for many years.
Preceded in death by son, Chris, and husband, Dwight, she is survived by daughter, Denise Pederson Sjoberg and grandchildren Laura, Thomas, Helayna and Kiran.
Marion graduated with honors from Hector High School, then became an RN after attending Lutheran Deaconess nursing school. She and Dwight were married in 1961, raised their children in Richfield and moved to rural Stillwater in 1985.
She was a surgery nurse at Deaconess Hospital, traveled with a group of surgeons as a nurse practitioner before it was a recognized practice, worked with her "old guys" at the Veterans Home in Minneapolis, and finished her career at the Minnesota Department of Health.
Smart as a whip, she taught her family that they could do anything they set out to do, both by example and by teaching. A gentle and loving person, she also passed on her belief that all people are good, and to be kind no matter what.
A memorial open house will be held at the Eagan Community Center on Tuesday, September 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Special thanks to all of her caregivers at Oak Park Senior Living and St. Croix Hospice.
