It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Mary E. Hill on February 7, 2026. Beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, she leaves behind a truly inimitable legacy.
Mary E. Hill was born on August 15, 1933 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Walter and Leontyne Anding. Number 9 of 12 children, Mary is preceded in death by her parents and the following siblings: brothers; Meredith, Douglas, Donald, Gregory, Reginald, Walter, and sisters; Mildred and Thelma. She is survived by sisters Aileen, Tina(Leontyne), and Annette.
Mary married Nathanael Hill on October 3, 1955 in Danville, Illinois, marking the beginning of a nearly seventy-year union. Together they have seven children: five sons; Nate Jr, Derryl, Clifton, Ruan, Darian, and two daughters: Rachel and Lisa. Mary and Nate relocated their family to New Brighton, MN where she was a loyal employee of Unisys Corporation for over 20 years, while also being a loving and devoted mother and homemaker.
Mary and Nate were dedicated to raising up the youth of their community, together founding a youth bowling league. Mary and Nate welcomed anyone and everyone to be part of the Hill family.
Mary loved her word puzzle books and sewing, often making clothes, blankets, pillows, costumes, and anything else her children and grandchildren requested.
A faithful lover and follower of Jesus, Mary devoted her life to ensuring her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren were raised with Godly principles. Even to her last days, you would often hear her singing His praises and giving Him glory.
Mary will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all her knew her, until we see her again in the presence of Jesus.
